Come see some of the Tampa Bay area’s brightest new stars battle it out for cash and prizes at The Big Bang Show hosted by Florida’s premier improv comedy troupe, Got Jokes!

Contestants from all genres perform in front of celebrity judges as a captivated St. Pete audience determines if these hopefuls have what it takes to be the next superstar! Monthly celebrity guest performances! Interactive Improv genius! Beautiful high end atmosphere! It all starts
8pm, Every 1st Thursday at Nova 535’s, The Big Bang Show!

Two full bars, delicious full dinner menu available and private tables
for all. Two item minimum (aka two cokes, two beers, a glass of wine
and food...)

Radio DJ Alli That Girl takes a shot at improv comedy

Alli That Girl was late calling for a phone interview this week, but she had a good reason: Her 2-year-old had deleted the number from her phone.

But Alli didn't stress. It's just more material for her act. Last month, the popular hip-hop DJ became the newest member of the local improv comedy troupe Got Jokes?.

A Got Jokes? show is high-energy, in-your-face improv comedy driven by crowd participation. The audience is involved with everything from scene suggestions to direct interaction in the show, with fans getting on stage and exchanging quips and lines with the cast while they react and mold their show around whatever they are given. The cast of Got Jokes? is a mix of stand-up comics, spoken word artists, trained improv comedians and actors that have come together to create a unique comedic expression. Last year, Daniel "Motown Pride" Jefferson set out to assemble an improv troupe diverse enough to make anyone laugh. So he visited comedy clubs in Chicago and Orlando. He took notes. He announced a casting call online and in newspaper ads. He held auditions.

Got Jokes? Comedy Improv Team

If you're anything like me, you probably grew up during a great time in television history. I remember watching Saturday Night Live and In Living Color and Who's Line is It Anyway in my youth and into my teens. Watching improv comedy shaped a lot of how I see the world today, and I'm glad for that education.

When I get a chance to see a comedy show, I jump on it. When it's improv, I really jump on it. What's funnier than a bunch of people acting our scenarios from an eager audience? Not much, and Got Jokes Improv Troop definitely embodies the spirit of what improv comedy should be.
